Who We Are

Project STEAM Role aspires to increase the number of girls of color who are exposed to, encouraged to participate in and are supported in STEAM career exploration.  This multi-faceted initiative endeavors to give girls who have a natural aptitude and curiosity for STEAM disciplines an opportunity to explore their interests. The project employs purposeful encouragement and fosters active participation from people of influence in girls’ lives.  The project melds guided STEAM activities and interaction with women currently involved in STEAM educational pursuits and careers into a program that recognizes and addresses challenges identified through current research on girls’ interest and involvement in STEAM.
